New York Fashion Week Recap 🗽🏙

Hey my friends!

So I had the privilege of attending NYFW with my sister, Nerisa Eugenia Waterman, Fashion & Lifestyle Journalist.  I will admit that if you’re a fashionista, you must experience NYFW at least one time. I will also admit that NYFW is not as glamorous as the photos we post on our blogs or Instagrams. It is extremely hectic and very stressful…can you imagine how the designers must feel???

Why is it hectic and stressful you might ask? Well first if you do not live in NYC, you have to make arrangements to get to each show. Secondly and most importantly, you have to pick out your attire for the shows. And lastly, you want to make sure you snap good pictures and videos to post.

Once that is all squared away, you then attend the shows. You want to be in the moment and take it all in, but you also have to stay focused because you have a job to do…whether you are a blogger, part of the press or an influencer.

I think I did a pretty good job capturing the moments at the shows I attended. I wanted those of you who didn’t attend these shows to get a snippet of what it’s all about.

We attended the Global Fashion Collective II show on Monday, September 9th where they showcased 4 amazing designers:

HAMON

Fashion designer, Kumiko Iwano, brought us the new collection ‘Square’ featuring designs with rich colors on linen and cotton materials.  The pieces were flowy and elegant.

Haus Zuk

What can I say about Haus Zuk other than he owned the runway!  Designer, Peter Zuk, had everyone on their feet with this spectacular and energetic performance of his collection ‘Overdose’.  From pink and blue teddy bears to Barbie, this show definitely kept us entertained.  I’m telling you, this was more than just a fashion runway…this was an experience as you will see in the videos above!

Maria Pia Cornejo

Fashion Desginer, Maria Pia Cornejo, has definitely brought back the colorblocking trend with a futuristic twist with the metallics and symmetrical designs in her collection ‘Alma’.

AC HOUSE

AC House closed the show with their collection ‘Rock Dreamer’.  Fashion Designer, Lily Liu, brought us lace, feathers and embroidery, with an edge.  These designs are sexy and definitely designs I could envision myself wearing.

We were invited to attend the Cynthia Rowley fashion show on Tuesday, September 10th and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the designs.  The fashion show was held outdoors and it was unbelievably crowded.  The runway was extremely long with a Dr. Seuss themed carpet and what else can I say but I loved it!  This show did not disappoint.  I could not keep my eyes off of those designs!

Here are 3 photos of my favorite pieces from the collection (I absolutely love the last piece)…

Cynthia Rowley

I am definitely looking forward to attending fashion week in February…
