Hey my friends!

Not to sound like a broken record, but as many of you know, I have changed my eating habits due to my medical issues.  I have done a lot of research on teas and there medicinal purposes.  I have always incorporated green tea into my daily breakfast routine, until two years ago my Ob/Gyn informed me that I needed to cut out the caffeine out of my diet as it is an estrogen booster.  He stated that I could switch to decaf green tea and only one cup per day because it still has a small amount of caffeine.  anyhow, it got me to thinking that there must be some teas out there that can help with my fibroid/endometriosis issues.

So after extensive research, I have been able to find amazing teas with amazing health benefits:

  1. Turmeric tea

Let me first say that I was so skeptical about drinking this tea.  For some reason I could not fathom drinking turmeric tea.  Can I tell you this tea has to be my favorite tea…no lie!  Turmeric has been used to ease arthritis symptoms, prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, maintain the remission of ulcerative colitis, boost the immune system, lowering your cholesterol and due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; can assist in the prevention of certain cancers.

2.     Ginger tea

My second favorite tea.  This tea has eased many stomach aches and nausea.  Anyone that is West Indian has been given ginger tea to cure that “tummy ache”.  It is a must have cure all.  Did you know that ginger contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids that improve blood circulation?  Ginger can prevent fat from depositing in the arteries, which can prevent strokes and heart attacks.  And you will be happy to know that this root can reduce belly bloat.  So after you’ve had that big meal, drink a cup of ginger tea.

3. Chaste Tree Berry tea

This is said to be the go to berry for fertility.  What makes me say that?  Chaste tree berry increases progesterone, secretion of (LH) luteinizing hormones, regulates irregular menstrual cycles, reduce uterine cysts, relieves mild endometriosis, helps with lack of ovulation, supports the endocrine system, normalizes the pituitary gland and enhances the chances of conceiving.  Chaste tree berry is slow acting and can take up to three cycles before you begin to see the benefits.

4.  Dandelion Root tea

What can I say about dandelion root tea… well it is a natural diuretic which allows your liver to quickly eliminate toxins.  It also helps to strengthen the immune system.  In terms of fertility, this root is rich in iron, magnesium and calcium that supports the development of a healthy endometrial lining.  I highly recommend this tea to assist in cleansing your body naturally.

5.  Raspberry Leaf tea

This leaf has been used for centuries to aid in treating anemia, morning sickness and it relaxes the uterus.  Raspberry leaf is high in iron, magnesium and potassium.

6.  Mint tea

I absolute love, love, love mint tea.  When I feel nauseous, if I am not running for that ginger tea, best believe I am drinking a big mug of mint tea.  This is the most delicious and refreshing tea.  Mint tea leaves improves digestion, reduces pain, gets rid of inflammation, aids in weight loss and most important… wait for it… eliminates bad breathe!

7. Green tea

And last but not least, the ever popular green tea.  This leaf is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that are essential for the body.  I cannot begin to tell you what this leaf can do for your health.  It can do some of the  following:

  • Improve brain function
  • Lower risk of cancer
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Aid in weight loss
  • Lowers risk of stroke
  • Natural fat burner
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Help prevent diabetes or insulin resistance
  • Promotes bone health
  • Reduce appetite

I hope this article gives you some ideas of what teas would be beneficial to your overall health. For those of you that drink coffee, let this try to convince you to cut back on your coffee consumption and incorporate tea into your lifestyle.

Until next time my friends… night night 💋
