All About the Ultimate Women’s and Food Expo…

Hey friends! Happy Sunday…

So yesterday I attended the Ultimate Women’s Expo and Food Expo at the NJ Convention Center in Edison NJ with my sister and blogger/journalist, Nerisa Eugenia Waterman.  It’s basically a 2 in 1 event that takes place under one roof.

On one side, you find yourself walking through the Women’s Expo that consists of small business vendors as well as major chain businesses. There are free DIY classes, massages, hairstyling, manicures and various beauty treatments…

And you can also get a free biometric screening, which I personally think is awesome…

Supporting Small Businesses…

Hey my friends!

Happy October 1st…

On Sunday, September 29th, my sister and I attended an event at the NJ Convention and Expo Center to support local businesses.

The event focused on natural hair and beauty. As you walk throughout the expo, you found local businesses showcasing their handcrafted products. You could find natural hair products, facial and body scrubs, hair and body wraps, paintings, sculptures, etc. All of the vendors were extremely creative, but there was one vendor that truly caught my eyes.

Sade’s Place creates beautiful ethnic dolls with natural hairstyles. As you saw from the video, each doll is unique, amazing and unlike any doll you would find in a toy store.

The owners of Sade’s Place are the dynamic duo, Sade’ and Tawana. If you did not attend the expo for an opportunity to purchase a beautiful doll, they are located on Etsy.

We definitely enjoy going out to events where we can support small businesses. As an owner of a small business, I understand the importance of supporting one another.

I encourage any blogger, especially those that has a business, to support your community of small businesses.

Until next time, night night 💋

Is this Really New Jersey 😲

Hey my friends!

Let me first put out this disclaimer, I am an island girl…born in St. Croix, USVI. Ok, so I’ve been living in NJ since I was three years old, so some would say I’m more of a Jersey girl (P.S. I completely disagree with that). Anyhow, I say all of that to say that I have spent most of my life so far living in Jersey. And believe or not, until this past week, I have never been to the beaches on the shore. Shocking right???

What was more shocking for me is how pleasantly surprised I was to see how beautiful it actually was. My friend goes to the beach all the time and since I didn’t get to go anywhere this summer due to my surgery and recovery process, she invited me to spend the day at the beach…sort of a staycation. I wasn’t too excited about going at first. For one, I just never had any interest in the jersey shore beaches. If I wanted to go to the beach, I would go to an island. And secondly, I’m just not beach ready. I still have my scar which is very visible and still not completely healed. So I decided, “what the heck, just go.” And I’m glad that I did…
