Autism Awareness Day…

April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day!  What do you know about Autism?  Do you know someone who suffers from Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Autism Spectrum Disorder ranges from mild to severe difficulties with their social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. This disorder is more common in males.  Autism appears to have its roots in very early brain development. Signs and symptoms of autism tend to emerge between the ages of 2 and 3 years old.

As some of you may know, my youngest brother was diagnosed with a mild form of Autism around the age of 2.  I am not saying this because I am speaking of my brother, but he is so smart, especially when it comes to computer technology.  As a matter of fact, many of those on the autism spectrum have exceptional abilities in visual skills, music and academic skills.  “About 40 percent have average to above average intellectual abilities.”

WHAT IS A LEAP DAY?

February 29 is a date that usually occurs every four years, and is called a leap day. This day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure, because the Earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days.

Enjoy your day everyone… make the most of it 💋
